A red, white and blue colour palette was adopted for this toddler's nautical themed bedroom. A bean bag and cushions were made out of sail cloth, and various items of bed linen were made with sail-typed stitching to tie into the scheme.

 

Shells, fishing nets, hammocks and lots of stripes were used in the dressing of the space to add a sense of fun, together with bespoke screen prints of helicopters, colourful homemade bunting, toy boats with driftwood fish and old rope fenders.

The blue carpet was replaced with a lighter coloured one to give a sense of space, and ticking fabric employed for the curtains, tied back with yachting gear in bowlines.

​

It is something he will be able to grow with for some years, rather than out of swiftly.
