Making an Entrance

All too often, an entrance hall or porch is used as a dumping zone for family members when they walk into a house. An entrance hall sets the scene and mood for those entering your home. It should be welcoming and clutter free, whatever the size.

Visitors generally appreciate a mirror in which to check their appearance and a console table in which to leave keys ready for when they leave. Mirrors also help to bounce light around a room, which will brighten up a dark space and add warmth.

This porch doubles up as a sunroom due to it aspect. With high ceilings and bright paintwork it is a relaxing zone with large windows which look out onto the garden, bringing a sense of harmony. The Moorish pouffés, Persian rug and daybed lend an air of the exotic, as too do the rich reds hues and gold coloured accents.
